The Ohmi Railway is a 59.5-kilometer railway running through eastern Shiga Prefecture, which opened in 1898. Along the line, there are popular tourist spots such as Hikone Castle, Taga Taisha Shrine, Omihachiman, and Taro-bo-gu Shrine.
