AMAGI TETSUDOU
AMAGI TETSUDOU
AMAGI TETSUDOU took over the Amagi Line between Motoyama and Amagi, which opened in 1939 as the Amagi Line of Japan National Railways (JNR), and was discontinued in March 1986. The line is a single track, non-electrified, 13.7 km long, and operates between Motoyama and Amagi in approximately 27 minutes. The line connects with the JR Kagoshima Main Line at Motoyama Station and with the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line at Ogori Station, making it an important means of transportation for commuters to and from the Fukuoka and Kurume urban areas, as well as for people visiting tourist spots along the line.
