Heisei Chikuho Railway Co. Ltd.
Heisei Chikuho Railway Co. Ltd.
Heisei Chikuho Railway started operation on October 1, 1989 as a third-sector railroad taking over the Ita Line, Itoda Line, and Tagawa Line, the third specific regional transportation lines of the former Japanese National Railways. Since its opening, the company has worked to improve service as a regional railroad by installing new stations and increasing the number of trains, while at the same time streamlining its operations by implementing one-man operation and adopting special automatic closing systems, thereby establishing a management foundation. In addition, we have been working on advanced revenue-raising measures such as sleeper owners, suspension leather owners, naming rights, wrapped cars, and train driving experience. In 1991, the sightseeing restaurant train "Kotokoto Train" began operation.
