KYOTO TANGO RAILWAY
Kitakinki Tango Railway Company was established on September 22, 1982 under the name of Miyafuku Railway Company, and initially operated the Miyafuku Line (30.4 km between Miyazu and Fukuchiyama). Later, the company also began operating the former Japan National Railways Miyazu Line (83.6 km between Nishi-Maizuru and Toyooka), which opened between 1924 and 1932, and changed its trade name to the current Kita-Kinki Tango Railway Co. In March 2015, the company received approval for its railroad business restructuring implementation plan, and since April of the same year, it has been operating under the nickname "KYOTO TANGO RAILWAY" (Tantetsu), adopting a separation of upper and lower levels, with WILLER TRAINS Co.
