Tenryu Hamanako Railway co.,ltd.
Tenryu Hamanako Railway was established in August 1986 and started operation in March of the following year, taking over the former Japan National Railways' Futamata Line. The line has been used by many customers for commuting to work, school, and sightseeing. The Tenryu-Hamanako Line, which bypasses Lake Hamana to the north, runs from Kakegawa to Shinshobara, with a total of 39 stations and a total length of 67.7 km, in about 2 hours. Tenryu Futamata Station, where the railcar depot is located, has 10 nationally registered tangible cultural properties, including a turntable, all of which can be viewed with a guide during the "Turntable & Railway History Museum Tour" held daily. Visitors can take a guided tour of all of them every day.
