Shinano Railway Co.,Ltd.

Shinano Railway is Japan's first parallel conventional railroad company, established with investment from Nagano Prefecture and cities and towns along the railway line. On October 1, 1997, with the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line between Tokyo and Nagano, Shinano Railway took over the Shinetsu Main Line between Karuizawa and Shinonoi, which had been separated from JR East, and opened as Shinano Railway Line. On March 14, 2015, with the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line between Nagano and Kanazawa, it took over the Nagano/Myoko Plateau section and began operation as the Kita-Shinano Line.
