Hokuetsu express operates the Hoku-Hoku Line, a 59.5 km long railroad line that starts in Muikamachi, Niigata Prefecture, one of the snowiest areas in the world, crosses the Shinano River, the largest river in Japan, and ends at Saigata on the Japan Sea coast.
