Isumi Railway Co.,Ltd.
The history of Isumi Railway dates back to the Taisho era (1912-1926) when the line was planned to connect Kisarazu and Ohara via inland and was named "Kihara Line. The opening of the line with the current Kururi Line was crushed, but it continued to run as the Japan National Railways Kihara Line, and after a one-year period on the JR Kihara Line, it was converted to "Isumi Railway" in 1988. During the rape blossom season in spring, the train is popular as a train running along the "rape blossoms and cherry blossoms" route, and many passengers ride the train and many railroad fans come to take pictures along the route. Local volunteers and the local government have joined in to maintain the rape blossom scenery along the line. The train is connected to the Kominato Railway at Kamiso-Nakano Station, the last stop, and is popular as a cross-Boso train from Ohara to Goi.
