The 23-kilometer long line runs from Hagohonjo Station to Yajima Station in Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture. Train attendants dressed in Akita obako (traditional Akita dolls) provide information along the line, and seasonal event trains are operated to provide an extraordinary experience. The "Chokai Toy Train," which uses wood from the prefecture for the train interior, is popular among families with small children, and the "Italian Train," which offers full-course lunches using local ingredients, is also popular. In July 2021, "Station Cafe Obako" will open inside Yajima Station, where the company's headquarters is located. It sells authentic coffee and other beverages made from beans from a local coffee shop, and offers a relaxing place to spend time in the waiting room while waiting for the train. The store owner, "Matsuko-san," a well-known personality at Yajima Station, is also a fun person to talk with.
